Minister Jandroković pays official visit to Poland, meets with President Lech Kaczynski, Sejm Marshal Bronislaw Komorowski, Senate Speaker Bogdan Boruszewicz, host Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski

Reviewing the two countries' bilateral relations, ministers Jandroković and Sikorski described them as very good and friendly, with a possibility of further improvement, especially in economy.

Minister Jandroković pointed out that Croatia appreciates Poland’s continuous and firm support for its EU and NATO accession, thanking Poland for the ratification of Croatia’s NATO Accession Protocol.

Speaking about Croatia’s EU accession, he informed his host about the state of the process and the activities undertaken, emphasizing that Croatia remains dedicated to the realization of its goal – completing the accession negotiations in 2009.

The two ministers agreed that Croatia’s efforts and progress have also been recognized in the European Commission’s Progress Report. They arranged for cooperation and the transfer of Poland’s experiences in shipbuilding reconstruction, agriculture, and informing the public about the positive effects of joining the EU.

Noting the state of affairs in South Eastern Europe, the two ministers pointed out the importance of the Euro-Atlantic perspective as a guarantee of peace, stability, and economic development.

Minister Jandroković was also received by Polish President Lech Kaczynski. The cordial and friendly meeting touched on the bilateral relations, Croatia’s EU accession process and ratification of its NATO accession, as well as on Georgia and South Eastern Europe.

The Polish president confirmed the strong support for Croatia’s swift entry into NATO and the EU.

Minister Jandroković also met with Sejm Marshal Bronislaw Komorowski, Senate Speaker Bogdan Boruszewicz.

In the afternoon, Minister Jandroković held a lecture at the College of Europe, entitled “Croatia’s Experiences in EU Membership Negotiations”.

During his official visit to the Republic of Poland, Minister Jandroković laid with highest military honours a wreath and signed the Book of Impression at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
