State Secretary for Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Bianca Matković, who is on an official visit to the Kingdom of Sweden, accompanying Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, met 25 November 2008 with the State Secretary for the European Union at the Swedish Prime Minister’s Office, Maria Asenius
The meeting’s topics revolved around Croatia’s EU negotiations and the recent European Commission’s Progress Report, seeing the exchange of opinions about the state of affairs in South Eastern Europe as well.
State Secretary Matković also met with Chairman of the Swedish Parliament's Committee on EU Affairs Anna Kinberg Batra, as well as with the members of the EU Affairs Committee and the Foreign Policy Committee, with whom she discussed further enhancing the two countries’ parliamentary cooperation, energy, and environmental protection. The representatives of the parliamentary committees expressed fully support for Croatia on its path to the European integration.
