During the forum entitled New Philanthropy for a New Civilization, two first prizes for essays were awarded in two categories (children and young people). In the children category, of the 4711 essays submitted from 137 countries, the prize went to the essay by Martin Kotarski entitled Joined by a Cookbook. Martin read in his excellent English the essay, in which he expounded on how to help a friend, as well as its realization by gathering traditional recipes and publishing them in the Zabok Cookbook. Its sale garnered enough means to help not only his friend, but other financially-challenged children.

Croatian Ambassador Drago Štambuk, who was present at the ceremony, congratulated Martin Kotarski on his success that distinguished his school, city, and Croatia as a whole. Martin Kotarski was received today, together with his teacher Natalija Jurišić and representatives of the Goi Peace Foundation, at the Croatian Embassy in Tokyo and was handed occasional gifts.
