Minister Gordan Jandroković received UK Minister of State for Europe Caroline Flint

The two expressed satisfaction with the level of bilateral relations, further strengthened through the implementation of the 2008/2009 Strategic Partnership between Croatia and the UK, crucial for promoting further co-operation between the two countries

The two expressed satisfaction with the level of bilateral relations, further strengthened through the implementation of the 2008/2009 Strategic Partnership between Croatia and the UK, crucial for promoting further co-operation between the two countries.

Minister Jandroković thanked for the United Kingdom’s assistance to and support for Croatia in its accession to the Euro-Atlantic structures. He also expressed satisfaction with the European Commission’s latest Croatia Progress Report and the deadlines for the completion of the negotiations. He pointed out that Croatia will put forth additional effort to carry out all of the necessary reforms in order to end the technical part of the negotiations by the end of this Commission’s mandate (end-2009).

Minister Flint also welcomed the EC Progress Report, pointing out that the UK fully supports the EU enlargement, as well as Croatia’s efforts to become its full-fledged member.

The meeting also discussed the state of affairs in the region, whereby Minister Jandroković emphasized that the Euro-Atlantic perspective is the best solution for all of the countries of South Eastern Europe, pointing out Croatia’s readiness to assist them along that path. Minister Flint described Croatia’s role in the region as important, especially as regards its cooperation with the other countries.
