Minister Gordan Jandroković received Korean Deputy Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister Shin Kak-Soo

As part of his visit, Deputy Minister Kak-Soo will open today the new buildings of the Korean Embassy and residence in Zagreb

Minister Jandroković and Deputy Minister Kak-Soo expressed satisfaction with the two countries’ bilateral relations, described as very good and devoid of outstanding issues, with Minister Jandroković congratulating on the opening of the Embassy and residence. In view of the existing potential, the meeting also discussed further strengthening the co-operation between Croatia and Korea, namely in economy. Deputy Minister Kak-Soo pointed out the interest of the Korean businessmen in investing in Croatia’s shipbuilding sector.

Minister Jandroković informed Deputy Minister Kak-Soo about the actualities in the processes of Croatia’s acceding to the Euro-Atlantic structures, expressing his belief that Croatia’s EU accession will open new cooperation spaces.

Deputy Minister Kak-Soo was also received by the State Secretary for Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Bianca Matković. She said that with its developed infrastructure, Croatia can be a good transport link with the EU countries for Korea, especially in light of its intended investment in the Port of Rijeka. She also pointed out that there is interest to organize an economic forum in Zagreb, which would present the Croatian economy to the Korean entrepreneurs.

The opening of the Korean Embassy and residence will also be attended by the State Secretary for Organization, Development, and Management at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Maja Vrtarić.
