International diplomatic seminar “EU Activities in Environment, Energy, and Climate Change” held in Dubrovnik

The Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Croatia and the French Republic’s Embassy to Croatia, in cooperation with the ENA European Studies Center in Strasbourg and Dubrovnik Center for Advanced Academic Studies (CAAS), and as a part of the activity program with the International Francophonie Organization, organize an international diplomatic seminar entitled “EU Activities in Environment, Energy, and Climate Change”, held 28-31 October in Dubrovnik

This is the seventh seminar in a row for the diplomats from the countries of Central, Eastern, and South Eastern Europe working EU-related jobs, actively using the French language. The seminar is also growing into an important forum for the exchange of opinions between francophone diplomats, and will be attended this year by 30 participants from 15 countries. The program will cover the topics of the Lisbon Treaty and EU activities in environment and combating climate changes, as well as its energy policy. Lectures will be held by experts in these areas, high-ranking diplomats, and representatives of the EU institutions, while the participants will also have time for discussion, case studies, and simulations.

The official opening of the International Francophone Seminar was attended by Head of the MFAEI Independent Analytics Service Zoran Vodopija, French Ambassador to Croatia François Saint-Paul, Belgian Ambassador to Croatia Marc de Schoutheete de Tervarent, and Head of the CAAS Office Vlasta Brunsko.
