State Secretary Bianca Matković familiarized Secretary General Kyrle with the Croatian Government’s most recent activities in fighting corruption and organized crime

State Secretary Bianca Matković familiarized Secretary General Kyrle with the Croatian Government’s most recent activities in fighting corruption and organized crime. In that sense, she informed him about the topics of today’s session of the National Security Council. Pointing out the Croatian Government’s dedication in combating every form of crime, she said legislature harmonization in said area is already underway.

She also informed Secretary General Kyrle about the dynamics of Croatia’s EU accession negotiations and thanked Austria for the support. Emphasizing that in these processes Croatia can serve as an example to other countries in the region, Secretary General Kyrle said Croatia can continue counting on Austria’s support. State Secretary for European Integration Davor Božinović also met with Secretary General Kyrle. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the two countries’ very good and friendly relations, devoid of outstanding issues.

State Secretary Božinović informed Secretary General Kyrle about the actualities regarding Croatia’s EU negotiations, stating his belief that the technical part will be completed by end-2009. The two collocutors also discussed the state of affairs in the region and the regional co-operation activities, and talked about the two countries’ economic co-operation, which is on the constant rise.
