Minister Gordan Jandroković received Chilean Senate’s delegation

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Gordan Jandroković received 15 July 2008 the delegation of the Republic of Chile’s Senate, led by its Vice-President Baldo Prokurica

Minister Jandroković expressed satisfaction with the Chilean delegation’s visit, as well as with the readiness to strengthen the bilateral relations and parliamentary co-operation. Both sides agreed that the two countries maintain traditionally good relations, as well as a substantial co-operation, both on a bi- and multilateral level.

The collocutors agreed that the basis of such relations and a strong tie between the two nations and countries is the numerous Croatian community in Chile. The joint bilateral interest is to intensify the economic co-operation, which is still underdeveloped, whereby Minister Jandroković pointed out Croatia’s favourable geographical position, as well as its advanced infrastructure and ports, which can serve as a bridge for other markets of South Eastern Europe. The Chilean side expressed an interest for co-operation in shipbuilding and power industry.

Minister Jandroković pointed out that Croatia plays a prominent role in South Eastern Europe as a country which through its active co-operation policy with its neighbours contributes to the stabilisation of relations, peace, and stability.
