State Secretary Kuprešak received Macedonian Ambassador Markovski

State Secretary for European Integration at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Željko Kuprešak received on Monday, 9 June 2008, Ambassador of the Republic of Macedonia to Croatia Dančo Markovski for his inaugural visit

Collocutors expressed satisfaction with the development of relations between Croatia and Macedonia, with no open issues and based on stable and friendly cooperation.

State Secretary Kuprešak informed Ambassador Markovski about the process of Croatia’s access to the EU noting that Croatia’s aim was to conclude negotiations on full membership during 2009.

Ambassador Markovski informed about current situation in Macedonia following the parliamentary elections, and the Macedonian foreign political efforts regarding her access to the NATO alliance and the EU.

State Secretary Kuprešak expressed his wish to soon resolve certain issues, which would enable Macedonia to continue its course towards achieving her Euro-Atlantic goals.

Collocutors agreed that Macedonia’s stability was among key factors of regional security, and that preserving Euro-Atlantic perspective was the best encouragement and framework for permanent resolution of all remaining open issues for all SEE countries.
