As part of study tour, MFAEI Diplomatic Academy attendees visited Vukovar

As a part of their study tour, the attendees of the 11th One-Year Professional Diplomatic Study at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration visited Vukovar on 15 May 2008

The group comprised of employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and other public administration bodies, as a part of their professional training, visited several locations in Vukovar.

The study tour programme included a visit to Vukovar’s General Hospital, the Ovčara Memorial Centre and mass grave, Homeland War Victim’s Memorial Cemetery, St. Philip and Jacob’s Church and the Franciscan Monastery, the memorial Cross for those who gave their lives for Croatia, the birth place of Nobel Prize winner Lavoslav Ružička, the Eltz Castle, and the Borovo Commerc facility in Borovo naselje. The group laid a wreath at the Homeland War Victim’s Memorial Cemetery on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.

Said Professional Diplomatic Course, began last year, contains five courses: the Croatian Course, International Relations and Policy, European Integration and NATO, Diplomacy and Diplomatic Skills, and International and Diplomatic-Consular Law. The lecturers come from the ranks of distinguished Croatian and foreign diplomats, the academic and scientific community, and political and public workers both from Croatia and abroad.
