Minister Gordan Jandroković attended PSI Adriatic Shield 08 civil-military exercise in Rijeka

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Gordan Jandroković attended the PSI Adriatic Shield 08 civil-military exercise on its central day, 13 May 2008, in the Port of Rijeka, along with a hundred-odd diplomatic and military representatives accredited to Croatia

Minister Jandroković expressed satisfaction with the drill, saying that it demonstrates the Croatian bodies’ readiness to deal with global threats and participate in suppressing WMD proliferation, with the aim of protecting the security of the Croatian citizens, as well as contributing to global and regional security.

Minister Jandroković also expressed satisfaction with the co-ordination among the relevant institutions and the co-operation with the international partners in organising the drill: the US and Poland, but other Mediterranean countries taking part in it as well – Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Italy, and Slovenia.

The PSI Adriatic Shield 08 civil-military exercise is being held in Rijeka and Opatija 12-14 May as a part of Croatia’s participation in the Initiative, as well as in the policy of non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and related equipment, technology and materials.
