Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Gordan Jandroković handed on 20 March 2008 the contracts on covering the tuition fee for the attendees of the “Croaticum” Croatian language course, designed for Croats abroad
In his speech, Minister Jandroković pointed out that Croatia recognises the importance of tightening the ties with expatriate Croats and places special importance on getting to know the Croatian culture through learning Croatian language as the most efficient way of connecting with Croatia, the land of their ancestors.
Twenty-four contracts for the 1st level of the course were handed today. The 2007/2008 summer semester is attended by an overall of 67 attendees.
The course is attended by students from various countries with Croatian expatriation, with most coming from South America. It is being held at the Zagreb University’s Faculty of Arts – "Croaticum", and the Split University’s Faculty of Arts – "Croatica", while the MFAEI, pursuant to the Rulebook on Financing Croatian Language Learning for Croats Abroad, covers the tuition fee for two semesters.
