Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Gordan Jandroković participated in the discussion on the future of Afghanistan at the 44th Munich Conference on Security Policy, held on 9 and 10 February 2008
In the discussion, opened with a speech by US Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, Minister Jandroković recalled Croatia’s active role in ensuring peace and stability in Afghanistan though its engagement in the ISAF mission. Minister Jandroković pointed out the need for a comprehensive approach to solving the Afghan issue, as well as a truly efficient political and military synergy, emphasising that development in not possible without security, while security is not maintainable without development.
