Canada cancels additional form for visa applicants from Croatia

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration was informed on 7 February 2008 by the Croatian Embassy to Canada about the cancellation of the additional form for visa applicants from Croatia

The cancellation is effective as of today, based on the notification Croatian Ambassador to Canada Vesela Mrđen received from Minister of Citizenship and Immigration Diane Finley.

Said issue has been burdening the two countries’ bilateral relations for the past 12 years. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration is therefore pleased with this decision and describes this act a significant step forward in mutual relations. This decision eliminates an obstacle to full development of the two countries’ co-operation and lays the foundation for further enhancement of relations.

The cancellation of the additional form is yet another recognition for Croatia as a democratic, European country fulfilling all of the obligations it assumed, and which has now been recognized by Canada also as the region’s leader and bearer of security and stability in this part of Europe.
