Assistant Minister Ivica Tomić on working visit to Mexico

Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration in charge of bilateral affairs Ivica Tomić paid a working visit on 16 and 17 January 2008 to the United Mexican States

During the visit, Assistant Minister Tomić met with high officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Deputy Minister Lourdes Aranda, Director General for Europe José Ignacio Madraz, and Head of the Department for South Eastern Europe and Mediterranean Eleazar Velasco, with whom he reviewed the issues of bilateral co-operation and the situation in South Eastern Europe. During the meeting with Deputy Director General for the UN System Julián Juárez Cadenas, Assistant Minister Tomić discussed the possibilities of co-operation in global challenges, in light of Croatia’s Security Council membership.

On the occasion of the inauguration of Guatemalan President-Elect Álvaro Colom Caballeros, on 14 January 2008, Assistant Minister Tomić also met with Mexican Foreign Affairs Minister Patricia Espinosa Cantellano, with whom he talked about the possibilities of deepening the Croatian-Mexican relations, as well as high-level visits. Assistant Minister Tomić relayed the invitation for Minister Cantellano to visit the Republic of Croatia.
