Minister Grabar-Kitarović opened One-Year Professional Diplomatic Study with lecture on Croatian foreign policy’s strategic priorities and basic guidelines

On 14 December 2007, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović opened with a lecture on the Croatian foreign policy’s strategic priorities and basic guidelines the One-Year Professional Diplomatic Study for the 11th generation of attendees

Speaking about Croatia’s foreign policy goals, Minister Grabar-Kitarović pointed out as their basis the principles of respecting the international law, equality, and mutual respect. She also noted the development of good-neighbourly relations with the neighbouring countries, maintaining regional stability and co-operation, the process of Croatia’s EU and NATO accession, and its positioning within global events.

Opening the study that would last until May 2008, the Director of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Ambassador Mladen Andrlić, pointed out that this 11th generation consists of 46 younger employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and other state administration bodies.

The Professional Diplomatic Study encompasses topics covered by the five courses: Croatian Course, International Relations and Politics, European Integration and NATO, Diplomacy and Diplomatic Skills, and International, Diplomatic, and Consular Law. The lecturers come from the ranks of eminent Croatian and foreign diplomats, the academic and scientific community, as well as political and public sector employees from Croatia and abroad.
