Croatian representative to IAEA Board of Governors Mario Horvatić elected vice-chairman

Croatian representative to the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Mario Horvatić was elected on 24 September 2007 in Vienna, Austria, as one of its two vice-chairmen

The meeting for the new 2007/2008 leadership elected the Board’s current vice-chairman, Chilean Ambassador of Croatian descent Milenko Skoknic, as its new chairman. Along with the Croatian governor, elected as the second vice-chairman was the Irish governor.

The Board of Governors is the main executive and political body of the IAEA, containing 35 of its overall 149 members. Croatia was elected to the Board of Governors in 2006 for a two-year term.
