State Secretary Hido Biščević received Ambassador of Republic of Hungary Dr Péter Györkös for an inaugural visit

State Secretary for political affairs Hido Biščević received on Tuesday, 11 September 2007, Ambassador of the Republic of Hungary to the Republic of Croatia Dr Péter Györkös

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the high level of relations and extremely successful bilateral cooperation in all fields, which was confirmed by holding two joint cabinet sessions of the Croatian and Hungarian Governments.

Thanking the Ambassador for the support that the Republic of Hungary is giving to the membership of the Republic of Croatia in the EU and NATO, State Secretary Biščević informed Ambassador Györkös on the current state and progress achieved in terms of Croatia’s rapprochement to Euro-Atlantic integration.

State Secretary Biščević and Ambassador Györkös exchanged viewpoints on the current state of affairs in Southeast Europe and, since regional cooperation is one of EU’s basic principles, State Secretary Biščević stressed that the Republic of Croatia, as a membership candidate and future member of the EU and NATO, is prepared to take an active role and help the international community in securing and maintaining stability in this part of Europe.
