Ambassador Mladineo reported on the progress that the Republic of Croatia has made in the area of fight against trafficking in human beings through advancement of national mechanisms and strengthening of international cooperation. She pointed out that adopting the National plan for Suppression of Trafficking in Children, which completely follows the principles of the UN’s Convention on the Rights of the Child, created conditions for offering adequate help and protection for children – victims of trafficking in human beings.
Ambassador Mladineo also reported on success of the Government of the Republic of Croatia and UNICEF office in Croatia – “Every child needs a family”, which is directed towards strengthening the system of foster care and on project of education of diplomatic and consular personnel which that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Croatia is undertaking in cooperation with the Government of the Kingdom of Norway and the International Organization for Migration.
The Republic of Croatia is ready to share its experience in the field of child protection with other countries and to offer its knowledge and experience to the UNICEF, pointed out Ambassador Mladineo.
