Minister Grabar-Kitarović received Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Hassan Fadaifard

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović received on 10 July 2007 the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Croatia, Mohammad Hassan Fadaifard

On that occasion, Ambassador Fadaifard handed Minister Grabar-Kitarović a letter from Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, in which he reviews the recent talks between the Iranian and the US ambassador, held on 28 May 2007 in Baghdad, which also saw the presence of Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, as well as the representatives of the Iraqi Shiites, Sunnites, and Kurds, that discussed the perspectives and future of Iraq, possible solutions to the conflict, and the setting up of a permanent peace in both Iraq and the region as a whole.

Minister Grabar-Kitarović welcomed the talks on the perspectives and future of Iraq, expressing hope for their continuation and a solution for setting up a lasting peace in the region.

Speaking about the Iranian nuclear program, Minister Grabar-Kitarović stressed the wish of Croatia, as a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), for that issue to be resolved as soon as possible in a peaceful manner and though negotiations.
