Minister Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović led Croatian delegation at Intergovernmental Accession Conference between Croatia and EU

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović led on Tuesday, 26 June 2007, the Croatian delegation at the Intergovernmental Accession Conference between the Republic of Croatia and the European Union in Brussels, where the Republic of Croatia opened six new chapters of the negotiations on the full membership in the European Union

The Delegation of the European Union was led, on behalf of Germany's EU Presidency, by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank Walter Steinmeier.

The following chapters were opened at today's accession conference: Chapter 3 - Right of Establishment and Freedom to Provide Services, Chapter 6 - Company Law, Chapter 9 - Financial Services, Chapter 10 - Information Society and Media, Chapter 18 – Statistics, and Chapter 32 - Financial Control. Negotiations in the listed chapters will be allowed to be closed after the fulfilment of the closing benchmark.

Four chapters have been confirmed at the ministerial level at the conference: Chapter 7 - Intellectual Property Law, Chapter 17 - Economic and Monetary Union, Chapter 29 - Customs Union, Chapter 20 - Enterprise and Industrial Policy, which have been previously opened at the accession conference at the deputy head of negotiations delegation level or head negotiator level.

The Republic of Croatia has until now opened twelve negotiations chapters, out of which two have been temporarily closed.
