The purpose of the contest is to encourage students to develop, adapt and present the information about the European Union and other topics regarding the European integration process by using the advantages of the internet. The topic of the 2007 contest was “The active role of youth in the development of their own and the future of the European Union”. The awards were provided by the European Commission’s Delegation to Croatia and the companies Ericsson Nikola Tesla, T-Croatian Telecom, Siemens, Končar INEM, Olympus, Microsoft Croatia, and the VIDI Media House.
The first prize was won by the Čakovec School of Trade, Industry and Crafts. Zagreb’s 4th Grammar School won the second prize, while the third prize went to the 3rd Grammar School in Osijek. The special prize for creativity was awarded to the Ivan Meštrović elementary school in Zagreb.
The contest saw the application of 65 teams, 52 of which participated in it (34 high and 18 elementary schools).

Apart from State Secretary Pejčinović Burić, speeches were held by Head of the EC Delegation to Croatia Vincent Degert, Assistant Minister of Science, Education and Sports Dragan Schwarz, and Director of CARNet Zvonimir Stanić. Also present at the awards ceremony were the representatives of the contest’s sponsors.
