State Secretary for European Integration Marija Pejčinović Burić received on 2 April 2007 Ukrainian Ambassador to the Republic of Croatia Markijan Lubkivsky

State Secretary Pejčinović Burić and Ambassador Lubkivsky confirmed the existence of very good relations between the two countries that are with no open issues, as evidenced by numerous high-level visits.

The two reviwed the visit to Croatia 25-28 March 2007 by three representatives of the Ukrainian executive and legislative authority, who gathered Croatia’s experiences in EU accession, on the invitation by Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović. State Secretary Pejčinović Burić expressed satisfaction with the visit, and Ambassador Lubkivsky thanked for the invitation and the successfully organised visit.

The State Secretary stated her conviction that the very good bilateral co-operation between the two countries will continue, confirming Croatia’s readiness to go on with the political and consular consultations between the two foreign ministries. Concerning the multilateral co-operation, the Croatian side asked support for Croatia’s candidacy for a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2008/2009.
