State Secretary for Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Hido Biščević received on Wednesday, 21 March 2007, the Ambassador of the State of Israel Shmuel Meirom
Ambassador Meirom informed State Secretary Biščević about the viewpoints of the State of Israel on the formation of the new government of the Palestinian Self-Government. Both parties expressed concern regarding the fact that the programme of the coalition government of Fatah and Hamas does not respect to full extent the key principles of the peace process accepted so far, including the right of the State of Israel to exist.
State Secretary Biščević once again offered Croatian support to efforts in finding a solution for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict on the principle of two states. He also stressed that the Republic of Croatia is dedicated towards a political solution, the restoration of the peace process with cease of violence, and the stopping of the radicalization of political and social relations.
