State Secretary Pejčinović Burić visited Berlin during visit to Germany

State Secretary for European Integration Marija Pejčinović Burić stayed on 13 and 14 March 2007 in Berlin during her visit to the Federal Republic of Germany

State Secretary Pejčinović Burić met on Tuesday, 13 March 2007, with State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Reinhard Silberberg. The conversation focused on the current state of Croatia's EU accession negotiations, with State Secretary Pejčinović Burić thoroughly informing her counterpart on the subject.

State Secretary Pejčinović Burić expressed interest in the preparations of the German EU Presidency for the publication of the Berlin Declaration on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome. State Secretary Silberberg, who is one of the preparations’ co-ordinators, said that the Berlin Declaration is an announcement of sorts for the beginning of resolving institutional issues in the European Union.

State Secretary Pejčinović Burić expressed gratitude for the support the Federal Republic of Germany is giving Croatia in its process of acceding to the Euro-Atlantic Integration, as well as for the bilateral help. She expressed her satisfaction with the level of the relations, which have no outstanding issues, and with the intensity of the cooperation between the two countries.

During her visit to Berlin on Wednesday, 14 March 2007, State Secretary also held a presentation at the Delegation of the European Commission to Berlin on the subject “Croatia on the Path to the EU”, as a part of the event titled “Roland’s European Paths – Various Aspects of Croatia’s Path to the EU”.
