Minister Grabar-Kitarović pointed out that the Croatian Government greatly appreciates the extremely important support from the OSCE Mission to Croatia in the implementation of the refugee return process, the democratization of society and setting up of the rule of law, stressing the good co-operation with the OSCE Mission, headed by Ambassador Jorge Fuentes Monzonis-Vilallonga, namely through the implementation of the Platform through which the Croatian Government is co-operating in fulfilling the rest of the Mission’s duties.

Great success ahs been achieved through setting up the Platform, the joint project by the Croatian Government and the OSCE Mission to Croatia, while its mechanism has been recognized as good example of co-operation applicable for the whole region. As a results of the Platform’s activities, four chapters from the OSCE Mission’s mandate were successfully closed by end-2006.

Minister Grabar-Kitarović reiterated the Croatian Government’s full dedication to fulfilling the remaining chapters from the Mission’s mandate. In 2007, the Croatian Government will focus on implementing the program of housing the returnees and the justice system reform.

As regards the Sarajevo Declaration, Minister Grabar-Kitarović said that the Croatian Government expects that after the constitution of the new Serbian government, the four signatories will be able to conclude the process by adopting the Joint Statement on the Final Conclusion of the Refugee Return Issue.
