Minister Grabar-Kitarović met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia Milošoski

In the conversation of the two Ministers, it was stated that there were no open issues in the relationship between the countries and that the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Macedonia were developing a successful and friendly relationship, as illustrated by today’s meeting. The common goal of the countries, focusing on joining EU and NATO, contributes actively to long-term stability and good neighbourly relationships in the region. Both countries also expect additional increase in economic collaboration in the following period, especially within CEFTA.

In the conversation between Minister Grabar-Kitarović and Minister Milošoski, satisfaction with the improvement of the countries’ collaboration in the field of the justice system as well as in scientific research and military technical co-operation, was underlined.

Good collaboration between the countries in the context of the process of accession to full EU membership was also emphasised. The Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Macedonia also agree on continuing their fruitful co-operation within the framework of American-Adriatic Charter, with the aim to create necessary conditions for full NATO membership. Minister Grabar-Kitarović informed the Macedonian side on the start of the process for signing of the bilateral Agreement on the Protection of Rights of the Croatian National Minority and the Macedonian National Minority.

Minister Grabar-Kitarović will continue the two-day official visit to the Republic of Macedonia with meetings with President of the Republic Branko Crvenkovski, the Macedonian Parliament Speaker Ljubiša Georgijevski, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski and Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration and Foreign Aid Gabrijela Konevska Trajkovska.
