The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration welcomes the accession of Bulgaria and Romania to the European Union, considering it an important step forward in EU enlargement that confirms the EU’s dedication to the realisation of further enlargement as well as the ideas of European unity and co-operation
The two countries’ accession will significantly contribute to the stability and overall progress of South Eastern Europe. This act also provides additional motivation for other SEE countries to carry out all of the reforms necessary for approaching the European standards.
By Bulgaria’s and Romania’s EU accession, Croatia and SEE have gained two new regional advocates within the EU, whose support and experience will help all of the SEE countries, based on their own achievements and individual dynamics of the accession process, realise full membership as soon as possible.
