Based on the findings of the MFAEI Commission, set up to determine the facts and circumstances surrounding the Barišić case, as well as any irregularities in the approach of competent employees, the MFAEI is to launch proceedings before the Civil Servants Tribunal for the violation of official duty against Ms. Sanja Bujas Juraga, Croatian Consul General to Los Angeles during the time of the arrest of Mr. Bernard Barišić by competent US authorities, and Mr. Gordan Bakota, then-State Secretary for Organisation, Development and Management at the MFAEI
Based on the findings of the MFAEI Commission, set up to determine the facts and circumstances surrounding the Barišić case, as well as any irregularities in the approach of competent employees, the MFAEI is to launch proceedings before the Civil Servants Tribunal for the violation of official duty against Ms. Sanja Bujas Juraga, Croatian Consul General to Los Angeles during the time of the arrest of Mr. Bernard Barišić by competent US authorities, and Mr. Gordan Bakota, then-State Secretary for Organisation, Development and Management at the MFAEI.
Ms. Bujas Juraga and Mr. Bakota have failed to determine all of the circumstances surrounding the case and take appropriate measures in accordance with the rules of the service.
Ms. Božica Barišić is to be withdrawn from service at the Croatian Consulate General to Los Angeles on 31 December 2006.
