The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration resolutely rejects the media attempts to impose a sensationalist and scandal-stained image about the activities of the MFAEI and some of its employees

The MFAEI would like to point out that the sources of such manipulations and attempts to discredit the Croatian diplomatic service are unreliable and motivated solely by personal interests of certain individuals tendentiously attacking the Ministry and the Croatian Government officials, with the aim of averting the public’s attention from their own illegal acts and other unallowable activities.

In case of the statements made in the media by Mr. Vladimir Topolovec, the MFAEI wishes to remind that criminal proceeding have been conducted against said individual for threatening the life of another MFAEI official and his family, with the court having taken appropriate measures. Furthermore, due to frequent unruly and conflictive behaviour, including physical attacks on his colleagues, the MFAEI has requested that work abilities of Mr. Topolovec be evaluated, after which he himself has requested a longer sick leave to seek appropriate medical treatment.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration considers the use of such unreliable sources inappropriate and conducive to the forming of an untrue and tendentious picture about the MFAEI and the Croatian diplomacy.
