Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović received 14 December 2006 to inaugural visit the Canadian Ambassador to the Republic of Croatia, Thomas Marr

Welcoming Ambassador Marr, Minister Grabar-Kitarović expressed her satisfaction with the bilateral relations between Croatia and Canada, which are on the upswing. Agreeing with that, Ambassador Marr stated his conviction in the continuation of the successful co-operation during his mandate to the Republic of Croatia.

Minister Grabar-Kitarović stressed she is looking forward to working on further improving the relations and co-operation in issues of common interest, not only in terms of alleviating the visa regime and intensifying the economic and trade relations, but also in terms of co-operation within multilateral forums.

Ambassador Marr described the recent official visits to Canada by Minister Grabar-Kitarović and Defence Minister Rončević as a success and an element of further intensification of the political dialogue between the two countries.
