Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović participated at the plenary meeting between the representatives of the OSCE Mission and the representatives of the relevant ministries and working bodies of the Croatian Government, held 13 November 2006 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration
The 6th of the plenary monthly meetings with the representatives of the OSCE Mission to Croatia, that have been held regularly since February 2006 for the purposes of a systematic review of the progress concerning the issues covered by the Mission’s mandate, was opened by a speech by Minister Grabar-Kitarović. She pointed out the similarities between the goals of the OSCE Mission and the Croatian Government’s priorities, or the political criteria for EU and NATO membership, pointing out the excellent co-ordination between the OSCE Mission and the European Commission’s Delegation to Zagreb.
Minister Grabar-Kitarović described the mechanism of co-operation with the OSCE Mission that has been set up as exceptionally successful. She pointed out that the realisation of the goals and tasks in the field of electoral system reforms, minority rights, media freedom, police and civil society reform is progressing well, with some of them having already been realised. Croatia, therefore, welcomes the initiative to transform the Mission as soon as possible. That process, said Minister Grabar-Kitarović, will confirm the maturity of the Croatian democratic institutions.
