State Secretary Kuprešak participated at conference The Danube – Europe’s Main Way

State Secretary for Organisation, Development and Management Željko Kuprešak participated at the conference The Danube – Europe’s Main Way, 11 October 2006 in Brussels

In his speech on the subject of the Danube as an economic factor, State Secretary Kuprešak noted the Danube’s potential as an inland waterway and the interests in the Danube shared by all of the Danubian countries. State Secretary Kuprešak pointed out that significant progress has been made during Croatia’s 2002-2005 presidency of the Danube Commission in its modernisation and efficiency.

Along with State Secretary Kuprešak, Croatia was represented by the employees of the Ministry of Sea, Tourism, and Development, and the representatives of the Osječko-baranjska and Vukovarsko-srijemska county.

The conference took place 10 and 11 October and was organised by the Representation of the German Baden-Württemberg Region to Brussels. Its aim was to represent the various forms of co-operation that exist among the Danubian cities, regions, and countries, and point out the importance of the co-operation networks formed in that way, within the context of the European integration. The conference mainly focused on regional co-operation, economy, tourism, environmental protection, migration, and culture.
