The Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration wishes to reject actions taken by Jelko Kacin today at the bridge over the River of Mura near Sveti Martin, describing such provocations for pre-electoral purposes as completely unacceptable
The bridge over Mura near Sveti Martin, as well as the joint border crossing Sveti Martin-Hotiza, are located on the Croatian national territory. This fact was confirmed in earlier diplomatic correspondence between the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Slovenia.
The MFAEI believes that, in the spirit of the joint statement by the two prime ministers and in the interest of the people living along the River of Mura, the technical agreement on the joint reconstruction of the Mura riverbank needs to be realised without the rousing of political tensions.
