Minister Grabar-Kitarović received to farewell visits ambassadors of Albania, Ukraine, Germany, and the Netherlands

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović received on Tuesday, 18 July 2006, to farewell visits Albanian Ambassador Arben Cici, Ukrainian Ambassador Vyctor Kyryk, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, Jürgen Alfred Staks, and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Lionel Strenghart Veer

Minister Grabar-Kitarović thanked Ambassador Cici for his professional and personal contribution to the further development of the co-operation between Croatia and Albania during his mandate, and wished him success in his future endeavours, pointing out she is certain Ambassador Cici will remain a lasting friend of Croatia. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the numerous bilateral and multilateral meeting that have contributed to the intensive political and economic co-operation. Ambassador Cici said that he had established cordial relations in Croatia, both officially and personally.

In a separate meeting with Ukrainian Ambassador Kyryk, Minister Grabar-Kitarović described the relations between the two countries as very good, with no outstanding issues, and on the rise in the field of economy. As the most important achievements during him mandate Ambassador Kyryk pointed out the signing of the Friendship and Co-operation Agreement in 2003 and the Agreement between the Croatian Government and the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers on the Mutual Travel of Citizens that liberalises the visa regime between the two countries and should soon come into effect.

During the meeting with German Ambassador Staks, both sides expressed satisfaction with the very good co-operation between the two countries and the good communication between the MFAEI and the German Embassy in Zagreb during his mandate. Ambassador Staks reiterated Germany’s support tot Croatia on its way to full EU and NATO membership.

In the meeting with Ambassador Veer, Minister Grabar-Kitarović thanked the Dutch ambassador for his contribution to the development of the partnership and co-operation between the two countries, as well as the Netherlands’ assistance and donations to Croatia. Ambassador Veer pointed out that during his mandate Croatia has realised a significant progress, and that the Netherlands will continue to support Croatia on its way to the European Union.
