Regarding presentation of White Book on Croatian-Slovenian border at Slovenian MFA's press conference

Regarding the presentation of the White Book on the Border between Slovenia and Croatia at the conference held 19 June 2006 at the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Croatian MFAEI wishes to state that it will, once it officially receives the White Book, study the statements, theses, and documents laid out therein

Based on the talks, information exchange and insights into the relevant historical and legal facts so far, the MFAEI does not expect that Slovenia’s most recent attempt at interpreting these relations can bring any new insights.

Croatia’s official positions on the border issue are well-known to the public and have been explained to the Slovenian side on numerous occasions and backed up by various documents, with the Croatian government sending an official proposal to submit the issue before an international legal body, to which it still awaits the official Slovenia’s response.

After reviewing the content of Slovenia’s views and propositions on determining the national border, it will be evident to which extent the Republic of Slovenia is willing to solve the issue, or if it is still attempting through political and diplomatic manoeuvres to separate it from the only relevant criterion for its solution – the international law.
