State Secretary Bišćević informed the Greek side about the course of Croatia’s EU negotiations, the preparations and reforms for the NATO membership, and the Croatian positions on the situation and perspectives in the South East Europe. In that regard, the two discussed the reform of the Stability Pact and especially the forthcoming SEECP Summit in Thessaloniki, 2-4 May 2006, at which Croatia will assume the SEECP presidency from the Hellenic Republic.
Director General Pispinis communicated Greece’s continuation of the support to Croatia in its approaching to the Euro-Atlantic integration, stressing the need for all of the SEE countries to keep a European perspective. He also expressed Greece’s views on the situation in the region, pointing out the importance of its stability and further prosperity.
It was agreed that the consultations should continue, with a need for the intensification of the economic co-operation.
