Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Gordan Bakota, handed 3 April 2006 his credentials to Kazakh State Secretary Oralbai Abdykarimov, officially assuming the duty of the Croatian ambassador to Kazakhstan
Ambassador Bakota pointed out the positive development of the bilateral relations between Croatia and Kazakhstan, stressing the importance of the forthcoming visit by Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev to the Republic of Croatia. Bakota also met with Kazakh Foreign Minister Kasymzhomart Tokayev, Minister of Economy and Budget Planning Kairat Kelimbetov, Minister of Energy and Minieral Resources Baktikoja Izmuhambetov, and Chairman of the Foreign Policy Committee of the Lower House of the Kazakh Parliament Serik Abdrahmanov. The two sides discussed the possibilities of strengthening the bilateral co-operation, as well as the concrete economic projects and forms of further co-operation, both between the governmental bodies and the economic subjects.
