Croatian Ambassador to Brazil Marelić handed his credentials

Croatian Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Brazil Rade Marelić handed on 25 February 2006 in Brasilia the originals of his credentials to Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva

Ambassador Marelić communicated President Mesić’s invitation to President Lula da Silva to visit the Republic of Croatia. Bidding him welcome, President Lula da Silva pointed out the importance of the bilateral relations between the two countries and announced the imminent opening of a Brazilian embassy in Zagreb. The two concluded that both countries share the interest in intensifying the bilateral relations, especially in the field of economic exchange.

At the reception after the handing of the credentials, Ambassador Marelić met with the representatives of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, members of the diplomatic corps to Brazil, representatives of the Croatian community, employees of the Croatian Embassy, and the Croatian Honorary Consul to Sao Paolo, Brazil.
