Regarding yesterday’s Slovenia’s note to UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, informing him as a depository about the Act on Proclaiming the Slovenian Ecological Zone and Continental Shelf, the MFAEI wishes to remind that the Croatian Government reached and announced its position on the issue as early as 25 August 2005. On that occasion, when the Slovenian Government reached the Decision on accepting the bill of the said act, the Croatian Government declared it legally null and void.
When Croatia is officially informed about the issue by the UN, it will react accordingly to the content of the Slovenia’s note.
The Republic of Croatia wishes to remind about the proposal sent to the Republic of Slovenia to submit the dispute on the sea border between our two countries to an international legal body.
