Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Damir Kušen handed on Thursday, 26 January 2006, a protest note to Serbia and Montenegro’s Ambassador to Croatia Radivoj Cvetićanin over the physical attack on the deputy ambassador and first secretary of the Croatian Embassy to Belgrade, which occurred on Wednesday night
Among other things, the note states that the Croatian side expresses a strong protest against the attack and requires detailed information on the actions being taken. The Croatian side “expects that the attackers be identified and prosecuted as soon as possible, and requires a full guarantee on the safety of the Embassy’s employees”, reads the note.
Ambassador Cvetićanin expressed his regret over the event, adding he is convinced utmost will be done to identify and prosecute the perpetrators.
