Minister Grabar-Kitarović received to official visit Hungarian foreign minister

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović received today, 10 January 2006, to an official visit Hungarian Foreign Minister Ferenc Somogyi

In her speech, Minister Grabar-Kitarović said that Croatia and Hungary are two friendly countries with no outstanding issues and expressed her satisfaction with the excellent bilateral co-operation. She mentioned that the two can serve as an example of neighbourly relations not only to the region, but globally.

Minister Grabar-Kitarović thanked Minister Somogyi for Hungary’s support and overall assistance to Croatia in its process of joining the Euro-Atlantic integration. Minister Grabar-Kitarović pointed out that Hungary is Croatia’s important strategic partner in the field of economy, stressing the two countries’ co-operation in transport, tourism, minority and environmental protection.

Minister Somogyi stressed that the co-operation between Hungary and Croatia is of a strategic importance for both countries, adding that Hungary will continue to support Croatia in its efforts in the process of acceding to a full EU and NATO membership.

Reviewing the forthcoming joint session of the Croatian and Hungarian governments to be held 26 January 2006 in Budapest, Minister Grabar-Kitarović and Minister Somogyi pointed out that it will contribute to the intensification of the existing bilateral relations between the two countries.
