Minister Grabar-Kitarović received to inaugural visit newly-appointed SMN ambassador

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović received on Tuesday, 20 December 2005, to an inaugural visit the newly-appointed ambassador of Serbia and Montenegro to the Republic of Croatia, Radivoj Cvetićanin, who handed the copies of his credentials

Ambassador Cvetićanin said that the bilateral relations between the two countries are at a high level and heading in the right direction, and he will personally try contribute to their further improvement.

Welcoming Ambassador Cvetićanin, Minister Grabar-Kitarović pointed out that the relations between Croatia and SMN are crucial for the peace, co-operation and progress in the region. Along with the need to solve the remaining open issues, Minister Grabar-Kitarović pointed out that both countries have a future in the Euro-Atlantic integration. Mentioning Croatia’s progress in the EU accession process, the minister said that intensive work awaits Croatia, and that there is readiness to transfer the experiences gained in that process.

Ambassador Cvetićanin laid out his mandate’s priorities and added that SMN welcomes Croatia’s progress, expressing hope that Croatia will join the EU during his mandate.
