Fourth Diplomatic Economic Club held

Organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, the Fourth Diplomatic Economic Club was held 14 December 2005 on the premises of Rade Končar, Zagreb

Opening speeches were held by the Assistant Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister at the Division for International Economic Co-operation, David Sopta, President of the Management Board at Rade Končar Inc. Darinko Bago, and Director of Potomac Ltd. Zlatko Penavić, with the participation of the representatives of the diplomatic corps and trade representation offices accredited to Croatia.

The goal of the Diplomatic Economic Club is to enhance the communication between the diplomatic community, especially economic chancellors, and the Croatian business community, as a precondition for the realisation of successful entrepreneurial and economic projects, with the active participation of the state administration bodies, showing through presentations and meetings the potentials of the Croatian economy.

The Club’s meetings started in 2004. The topics discussed at the first two meetings were free zones, small- and middle-sized entrepreneurship, and sustainable development of the Croatian rural areas, with the presentation of the Zagreb Fair’s activities. The third meeting, held 19 July 2005, discussed the regime of yacht and small vessel sailing in the Croatian territorial waters and fighting black chartering, perspectives of development and investment in tourism, preparations for the 2005-2006 tourist season, and safety in the Adriatic. At this, the fourth Club’s meeting, presentations of Končar Inc. and Potomac Ltd. were held.
