State Secretary for European Integration met with Irish MFA’s European Affairs Minister

State Secretary for European Integration at the Croatian MFAEI Marija Pejčinović Burić met today, 12 December 2005 in Zagreb, with the European Affairs Minister at the Irish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Noel Treacy

The two pointed out the good bilateral relations between Croatia and Ireland, as well as the very good co-operation in the field of European integration.

Minister Treacy congratulated Croatia on opening the accession negotiations with the EU and offered Ireland’s technical assistance and the transfer of its experience in EU membership.

State Secretary Pejčinović Burić informed Minister Treacy about the negotiations structure in Croatia and the preparations undertaken so far for a successful conducting of the negotiations. She also spoke about the ongoing first phase of the negotiations, the screening of the Croatian legislature, and the planned course of the negotiations in 2006.
