State Secretary Biščević met with Slovenian MFA’s State Secretary Božo Cerar

State Secretary for Political Affairs at the Croatian MFAEI Hido Biščević and State Secretary at the Slovenian MFA Božo Cerar met in Ljubljana 8 December 2005 as a part of the regular dialogue between the representatives of the two countries

Opinions were exchanged on the current proposals for solving the remaining open issues, including the interstate border and the debts by Ljubljanska Banka.

The two also reviewed the current issues of implementing the Agreement on Cross-Border Transport and Co-operation and encouraged their solving through the Permanent Mixed Commission and other bodies for the Agreement’s implementation. Both sides agreed to continue the dialogue on these issues with the European Commission.

It was agreed that the next meeting of the Mixed Commission for Water Management will review the technical conditions for repairing the riverbanks on the river Mura, endangered by the floods. It was also agreed that the Croatian side consider the Slovenia’s proposal to build the Zlogonje-Meje border crossing.
