Minister Grabar-Kitarović held a speech at the 13th meeting of OSCE Ministerial Council

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović held a speech at the 13th meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council, held 5 and 6 December in Ljubljana, the Republic of Slovenia

Minister Grabar-Kitarović confirmed Croatia’s support to the multidimensional concept of OSCE security, with the emphasis on the protection of human rights and freedoms, democracy and the rule of law, as well as the military-political and economic security and environmental protection.

In her speech, Minister Grabar-Kitarović said that Croatia, as a multiethnic and multicultural state, supports all OSCE activities in the field of tolerance and non-discrimination, adding that Croatia welcomes the Ministerial Council’s decision on human rights education and presented the Croatia’s program on human rights education in preschool facilities.

As regards the military-political security, Minister Grabar-Kitarović said that Croatia contributes to the OSCE activities in armament control and the measures for security building through a series of initiatives. She added that Croatia strongly supports OSCE’s efforts in combating terrorism in all its forms, and is actively participating in that regard.

Minister Grabar-Kitarović pointed out that Croatia, within the OSCE mechanisms and activities, is actively co-operating with the countries in the region on numerous issues of common interest (fighting human trafficking, border safety and management, armament control).

Minister Grabar-Kitarović presented to the Ministerial Council the excellent co-operation between Croatia and the OSCE Mission to Zagreb, reiterating Croatia’s readiness to transfer those experiences onto other fields of OSCE activities.
