State Secretary for Political Affairs at the MFAEI Hido Biščević visited Rabat today, 30 November 2005, where he talked with the State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Co-operation of the Kingdom of Morocco, Omar Hilale, about the relations between the two countries, especially the ways to strengthen the economic and trade co-operation based on their exceptionally well developed political relations
State Secretary Biščević was also received by Foreign Trade Minister Mustapha Mechahouri, whom he invited to visit Croatia with a Moroccan business delegation, so as to sign the Agreement on the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Agreement on Co-operation in Tourism. The two agreed that their countries should strengthen the direct economic co-operation, while the Moroccan minister invited the Croatian companies to join the plans for an accelerated development and building of Moroccan infrastructure.
State secretaries Biščević and Hilale reviewed the mutual relation within the European perspective, pointing out the importance of a Euro-Mediterranean dialogue and the Barcelona Process. Opinions were exchanged on the regional circumstances and the co-operation within the international forums and organisations.
The two state secretaries also signed the Agreement on Co-operation between the diplomatic academies of the Republic of Croatia and the Kingdom of Morocco.
