Minister of Foreign fairs and European Integration Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović took part yesterday, 18 September 2005, at the margins of the 60th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, at the female foreign ministers’ working dinner organised by the Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Sweden, Laila Frievalds
Apart from human trafficking, helping the victims and the respect for their human rights, the ministers also discussed the UN reform that supposes the setting up of a Peace Building Commission. The ministers sent a letter in which they request that gender equality be taken into account in the constitution and activities of the Commission. Minister Grabar-Kitarović said that Croatia wants to have an active role in that process and offered Croatia’s peace building experiences.
Minister Grabar-Kitarović will host the female foreign ministers’ meeting to be held in Geneva, at the next session of the UN Commission for Human Rights.
