Foreign Affairs and European Integration State Secretary Goran Bakota spoke, on May 15, 2005, on the Fifth Electoral Convention of the Croatian World Congress, opened in Croatian Heritage Foundation in Zagreb, with 80 representatives from 30 countries of the world, the Republic of Croatia, the Croatian Parliament and Church present

Croatian World Congress was formed in Zagreb, in 1993. As an umbrella emigrant organisation it unites 30 national congresses from 30 countries of the world, in which a large number of Croatian emigrants live. As a non-profit, non-governmental, and non-party organisation, it unites Croatian emigrant organisations in order to create conditions for a more successful functioning of the organisations, in the best interest of Croatia and the other foreign countries. Croatian World Congress is a member of the U.N.'s Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), with a consultant status.
